my boat set up and was unused for about 1.5 years. I have had some work done on it to get it back in running condition. The problem that i am having now is very sporadic but happens every time i take it out to run it. At low rpms(<2100) the engine will drop rpms, will not stall, and then surge back up. The process repeats itself until it will eventually get on plane and never hiccup until i drop back down to idle and then try to get on plane.
I have replaced:
plugs, fuel/water separator, primer bulb, fuel filter, low pressure pumps, cleaned vst, removed high pressure fuel pump and had a pro rebuild it, replaced screens on the high pressure fuel pump and new gaskets.
I was told by a local mechanic that he thinks the injectors are clogged up. he suggested getting a fuel additive to clean them and just run the engine as much as i can.
Any thoughts or anything else i may be missing?
