just picked up a 1985 Evinrude 140hp, and it has a very hard time getting up on a plane and when it does your hauling butt across the lake. You can give it full throttle and it will just act like its bogging down but if you put some weight in the front it will pick up after going a little ways then just take off.and it has a hard time in a idle and doesnt want to run until you give it some gas and it runs perfect once on a plane. i dont know if it helps but it came from missouri with an elevation of about 1,000ft and now its in utah at 5,000ft. I think it might be a prop but am not sure and dont want to buy one then not have it work and be out the money. It currently has a prop with a pitch of 19 and its mounted on a 1985 Ranger V330 bass boat with length of 17-18ft. Also if it is the prop what pitch and size and all that good stuff would i need to order

Re: Prop Pitch?

If it kicks butt when it finally gets on plane you might want to adjust your trim for a better hole shot.
