I have a 66 110hp I/O, Chevy, can you tell me what R's I should expect at W.O.T.? Operating range? I am trying to get the prop sized. I am not getting the MPH I think I should be.

Bondo and Oracle
Since the chevy 151 and 181 cid are basically the same engine, why a variation in wot rpms.
My 2007 135hp crate motor says I believe 4300-4600.
110 hp you say is 3900-4200.

Can we expect to run these 4 cylinder chevy's anywhere in the 3900-4600 rpms range and be ok.

No direct experience with a 110, but my early 120 HP (2.5L, 153 CI) listed a max RPM from 3900-4300 vs 4200-4600 for the 140 (3.0L, 181 CI) per Mercruiser Manual #3. Different cams, different strokes, different balancing. Not sure on a 110, but a quick look at a 120 vs 140 HP, the 120 runs more crankshaft end play, less valve lift, and less valve spring pressure.

Sure, you'll probably be OK for awhile. No reason to think that the engineers at Mercruiser had any idea what they were doing when they made those MAX RPM recommendations. Recommendations from posters on the internet (who you have no earthly clue as to what their qualifications are) will be a much better source of reliable information.
