89 Force 150 recirculation check valves

Hey my 89 150's been idling weird lately so I pulled apart a couple of things and found that the recirculation check valves on one of the drain covers isnt working right (part 7, should be able to blow air through only one way, this one appears to be stuck open).

Every place I've looked says the 89a check valves are obsolete, will the 90+ work in the drain covers I have?

Don't know about the swap. Try blasting w/carb. cleaner.

Tried that as a first resort with no success.

I drilled it out intending to replace it and then realized the part was marked obsolete. :facepalm:

i've got an email into a couple of places but no response yet.
