I have instaled a water impeller and I am having difficulty getting units back together wherethe gear shift will work. Ineed to know the complete reassembly steps in detail. I have a 1987 Yahama 150 pro v

More than likely the unit slipped into gear when you were working on it. Rotate the shift shaft until it is in neutral, then put it together. FRED
