Install hatch into bow...

Would anyone consider installing a hatch into a covered bow? The boat is an older 17' runabout with a very small and low under-bow area. It is quite difficult to place a milk crate into currently and especially being you have to get nearly on your side or belly between the seats to do so. My thoughts of having a space to store the anchor line via a hatch liner is why I keep looking for better access to this area. A decent anchor set-up would be a good addition to our normal acitvities. Currently the underside of the fiberglass is sandwiched foam flotation by the manufacturer, maybe 4 inches thick.

Opinions/ideas would be great!

Lots of them have hatches so I certainly can't see any reason why you shouldn't do it!
