My above engine idles fine and runs fine. Just off idle, like 900 to 1200 rpm in gear or in neutral, i get a small idle up and down hunt. Timing is correct at 8deg with engine in proper mode for setting timing. No vac leaks. It is slight and a lot of people would never notice, but I do. Hit 1300 rpm and higher it's gone. It's like in that range the IAC doesn't quite know where it wants to be. There no trouble codes either. Just a normal code 12. Any help will be apprecated. Perhaps it can't be fixed.

Disconnect the throttle cable and see if it slows down. it should be idling at 650 rpm. You won't have a drive long shifting at 11 or 1200 rpm.
What is the full model number (all the letters) or the serial number for your engine?

I'm sorry Don. When I said idles fine, I meant the speed. It's 600 to 650 and it does not hunt at idle at all. It only hunts a bit just above idle as discribed. I don't have all the numbers off the engine but it is a 5.7 GSI PEFS "charcoal" engine. GM TBI. DP-S drive. It runs perfect and this is very slight. Like I said, most would never notice.
