Hello, I have recently purchased a 1996 Evinrude 40 hp model E40TLEUC and need to adjust the shift rod to the proper length. Does anybody know what the correct length should be? The problem is that it does not shift completely into forward using the cables, however when using the shift linkage on the powerhead it is clear that the shift rod needs adjustment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
