I am not sure how the fuel supply line was originally ran on my 76 sea sprite. It used to have 2 tanks, but the previous owner removed one on the starboard side. Now the fuel line runs over top of the engine to the fuel pump. Deosn't seem right to me since the hose rests exhaust/intake manifold. Anyone know where the fuel lines run on an older boat like this? Am I ok leaving it like this?

Re: Fuel supply line routing

Sorry not sure what yours should be.

On my boat, my tank outlet runs to a fuel/water separator in the bilge area via a 3/8" USCG rated fuel hose. (I have the separator just high enough to get a container under it when it is removed).

Then from the fuel separator to the fuel pump INLET via the same USCG fuel hose. Then 3/8" metal line from the pump to the carb.

The hose can be run in a safe spot out of the way (from the tank and the separator) using wire ties or two hole galvanized or PVC "pipe" clips sold at the big orange store. (electrical section)

Yep - what he said. ^^

I would strongly suggest you re-route the fuel line to get it off of the exhaust manifold!

If you have a metal line running from your tank, you will need to attach it to your transom, and then use the appropriate fitting to go to a rubber marine rated fuel hose (I think it is type A-1) to your fuel pump.

The line from the pump to the carb can either be the marine rubber line or metal line. Either is fine per the regs.
