I am blowing my 15amp ignition fuse as soon as i turn the key to on. It is only doing it with the double purple wire connected to the I slot on the ignition switch. I see in the schematics that the 15 amp power also goes to all my gages etc. I can not find a short. Is it possible it is a bad switch?, shorted coil? or have i just not found my short? Any help would be appreciated. This is a MCM, 4.3 alpha, 262 CID, is in my fourwinns horizon 180 fish and ski.

It sounds like a short in the wire somewhere. I would start by disconnecting everything in the circuit one by one and testing it, buy a box of fuses. Or use a ohm meter hooked to the switch end of the wire (disconnected from the switch) test the wire to ground while unplugging stuff. as soon as the ohms read higher than ground, you found the problem!

I found the problem, I had a direct short, mice had chewed threw one of my purple wires and it grounded under the alternator. it took some hand over handing but it worked. Thanks Neberaska for the help.
