trim and tilt

Can anybody tell me how to add hydraulic fluid to my trim and tilt package??? Motor runs fine but will not lift the lower unit as it should... Previous owner change the lines so I believe it's low on fluid but I can find no way to add to it... Found the resevoir and again no way to add fluid. I have a Mercruiser 165 I/O.. Can use some help with this.:confused:

A year would be helpful.
If you have the square container there is a screw marked fill in one corner
a round cannistor has a black screw type dipstick
late model has a screw cap and plastic base.
