I have a 2004 Yamaha F115TLRC (four stroke) that has an unusual noise while idling around, sounds like a racy idler bearing. The noise does not go away in neutral.
I haven?t started to troubleshoot it yet but I was wondering if there were any known culprits?
There?s not a lot of hours on this motor, I bet under 100

More than likely it is the tensioner for the cam shaft drive belt. Take the black plastic flywheel cover off, one bolt, then pulls up on the back and forward. Drop of oil might help. I have the same motor and it has squealed at idle since it came out of the box. FRED
