Oil injector not working

1992 Mercury 135 hp
s/n: OD270291

I was coming in fromthe lake and the control started doing an intermittent beep. The service manual says the oil injectors are not working. I checked the top tank and it s full. as is the remote tank. Any suggestions on a good starting point? the hoses are good. Any way to check the pump?
