Is it possible to clean a fuel pump in 2000 Suzuki outboard without the 5-hours estimate to remove for replacement? This is the second time in two years old fuel was thought to be the problem.

You probably will not get much info unless you give more info and your motors model # , so we have some clue of what motor and pump you are talking about

Hey! Question is what do you expect to find inside the fuel pump? If there is some dirt it should stay inside the filter which normally is located before the pump.

If you don't have problems with fuel supply or expect a internal failure in the pump. I would go for the filter first!

First question, yas and no.

You have to keep water out of the fuel system and use STY-BIl or simler product in the fuel. Use the raycor fuel filter between the boat tank and engine. Drain the vaper seperator tank often. When you clean the VST and pump if you find white powder, fuel tank is the problem, dark varnish looking junk, fuel is the problem.
