I have a Donovan aluminum skiff that has been in the family for ?30 years. Ive searched the boat for its' registration number . Maybe the engine threads rubbed it out if it is on transon. Anyone have an older skiff and an idea of likely place number is engraved?

First - - Welcome!

Most likely that boat did not have a registration number. I have one of the old tinny's and it does not have a number.

Was it registered in LA. The state may be able to give you some info based on the the bow (registration) numbers.

Welcome to iboats.

I am fairly certain that boat that old didn't need serial numbers, some had them but they weren't required yet, if it is there it should be on the transom to one side or the other, it could have been stamped or a riveted plate but if you can't find it it probably was never there.
