Does anyone know how many of these boats were made ? Glastron told me they do not have any records back that far. It seems like a rare boat. Thanks for the help.

The company told me, when I bought mine new, they only made 300 of these boats. Every original owner received a metal plate with their name on it as well, but I don't remember if there is a number on the plate. I need to look at mine again, but I'm pretty sure there were not numbered.

Re: 1996 Glastron GS 205 40th Anniversary Edition

Hey guys, my first post here. I picked up a 1996 Glastron GS205 couple summers ago, not sure if its regular or the anniversary edition. Did the anniversary edition ONLY come in the red/white combination ? Mine is green/white...altough the original owner did a repower and just about a total interior transformation in 2001. I believe it came with the Volvo setup, but it now has a MEFI3 Mercruiser 350 MPI w/ Pro-Charger 7psi system, all Imco exhaust components including silent choice and dual 3" thru-hull straight pipes, an 18 speaker stereo system, motorized sunpad, etc.

ever since i brought the boat home and put it in the water, here's what happened...

1. water in the hull while on the water - very old little bilge pump inop, and found a huge gouge in one of the exhaust connectors - installed new bilge pump, installed new 4" hose piece

2. engine would never rev past 2500 rpm - ordered audible alarm kit for the mercruiser, spent an hour with a tech on the mercruiser computer, no audible alarms, no DTC's - while i was in Cabo just a month ago, i ordered scanner-pro for the MEFI-3, and found out that there were some flags set, deep in the ecu. cleared those and water-tested...got to ~4600rpm @ 65mph :)

3. right now the boat is in the garage, i ripped out the entire interior and carpet (except for the bow area). already purchased new green outdoor carpet, glue, tools and waiting for a string of 5 days of 65F or greater (which will be about 5 months from now :( ). also rewiring the stereo system, and instead of 3 amplifiers, i'll be going with 2 amplifiers, new head unit, possibly new entire dash w/ new gauges.

If you GS205 is the 40th Anniversary Edition, it will have a plaque on the side of the boat below where the windshield ends, about mid-ship. When I bought mine new, I was told they only came in one color which was kind of purple and white. It was supposed to be a color specific to the Anniversary edition, but in 1997 they used that same color combination on a lot of their boats.

Does anyone have a complete wiring diagram I can look at? Also, I need a back to my speedometer gauge! Last, on the gauges, what goes on the middle bottom? Between the rpm and speedo? And looking for some replacement gauges too if anyone has had good luck finding nice ones!
