I'm trying to figure out what the best fish finder/GPS unit is for our application. I've been looking at the Lowrance HDS 5 and it sure looks good but I'm not sure it is the right choice for us. We have a 22 FT. Pontoon but set up for fishing and usually fish relatively shallower lakes and or rivers so far in Oklahoma and Montana. The boat came with a no bells or whistles unit and it has been pretty much useless. We would like to upgrade but need to know issues on transducer mounting on the pontoon and what kind of transducer would work best for the kind of fishing we do. We're pretty new at this so any help would be aprriciated.
