I Purchased my Yamaha F 150 2008 engine from a individual and it is still in warranty and the local dealer in town wants me to pay $150.00 to transfer the warranty into my name. I talk to another dealer across town and they said as long as its in warranty they don't care who's name its in. So I need to know should i transfer or leave it the same? If i don't have to spend $150. I don't want to. Also when this warranty runs out, will i have to transfer it anyway when i want to buy the extended warranty for $800.00 more for 3 more years?
