need help identifying a model of a bubble back

hey good members, I have a 80's something bubble back V4 runs great and love it... but low compression all around-about 90 , really low on #3 -60. but the issue is I can not find any id #'s on it any where!! gotta get parts!! I was hoping if I post some good pics someone give me close year model? thanks

model identification 2.jpgYou can look for a casting plug on the top of the engine. Here is a typical plug, about the size of a quarter. On many of the early crossflows, it will have the same information that is stamped on the serial ID tag on the transom brackert. You've got a major internal issue with the compression at only 60#. You need to pull that head and inspect the cylinder walls and check the condition of the ringset on that piston, Also check for piston scuffing in the cylinder.

Welcome to iboats.

Sounds like if this motor is new to you.......it is time for a full decarb and then check the compression again. Decarb will "hopefully" get the carbon off the rings and give you better performance. It is the cheapest repair/maintenance you can do.

That new style carb linkage first came out around 1987. It has the late model carbs. I don't see the 1987 dual power packs, so best guess is that it is at least a 1988 110 hp V4 crossflow.
