Leaky spark plug wire question....

I had my evinrude 60 running on muffs and checked for a dead cylinder by pulling off 1 spark plug wire at a time to see if the engine changed tunes. It did on all 3, but the bottom one shocked the crap out of me. Found that the boot had a leak. Would this account for some power loss??

O.K.... well, would it possibly cause the engine not to open up (bogging in) from about 1/2 to WOT??? (I haven't had a chance yet to take it to the lake).

It could reduce power by to to 1/3. It would be most noticeable at the top end. Best of luck. Rick.

I am today. It's just that I have a pretty good trip to get to the nearest lake. If you've seen my other threads, I've had a hell of a time with this motor. But I'm on my way the lake now. Keeping my fingers crossed. LOL.
