Changed spark plugs, after had a problem with the high and low idle. Cut out in high speed, after it warmed up it would die in low speed. Changed plugs again. Same result, cannot adjust idle speeds to compensate. Help.
sounds like you might have a heat related electrical issue. when is the last time the points were cleaned/reset to .020"? coils can konk out if they get too hot. what plugs are you using? you'll wan to use Champion J6C gaped at .30. When was the last carb clean/rebuilt?
I will check the points and yes I am using the j6c plugs. I did adjust the high idle and it ran fine in high. At low speed the thing dies. Still think this could be the problem?
hmmmm.....have you adjusted the idle set screw at the base of the vertical throttle tower? Is the brass bushing/nut that the lo speed needle passes through snugged down? have you ever checked the compression? should be over 60psi in each cylinder and be within +/- 10% of each other. Are the spark plug wires green/corroded? Just trying to think of all the obvious stuff :/ Here's a link on initial setting for the carb needles that may help too.
