Ok, so I was given this boat by my a relative and it had sit for about 8 years before I really got to working on it. It has been a learning experience. Last summer with the help of a friend I rebuilt the carborator but I still have one spot in the throttle that the engine will die. If I go full throttle right past that spot I don't have an issue. I was wondering if it would be recommended that I just replace the carborator. The old owner said he had the same issue.

The 2nd issue I have is that the hydraulics will pick the stern drive up out of the water no problem but it will not force it down. When I launch I have to step on the outdrive to force it down and then let the force of the prop push it the rest of the way once I am going. Any ideas on how to fix this. I am totally clueless.

Thanks

Its a carburetor....And it sounds like throttle linkage adjustment.Is it a quadra-junk?

The carb......ride it out a bit. My L6 engine has cleaned itself all on its own. Runs like top now. Mix some seafoam in the fuel. If not just rebuild it. Im sure it is time.
