it's gonna be hard to say unless ya find someone with your exact boat... other than that... as high above the waterline as possible. my radio or antenna came with instructions to keep the two seperated by at least 3', so that needed to be considered. also, think about how your gonna fold the antenna down. it needs someplace to fold away to.. trial mount it. w/o bolts, to see if it looks like a good place to mount it at. consider what yer gonna hold the antenna base to the boat with. is there room for a backing plate on the underside. can you get to the underside even. you need to be able to get nuts on the hold down bolts along with some kinda backing plate. i used stainless steel fender washers.
