Hello all. I've been to this forum many times, and did my registration tonight.
I'm in the process of building a wooden 14' runabout. Picked up a 62' Johnson 40hp RDSL23, a 72 Merc 402 40hp and now, think I found the one I'll use.
Bought a 1958 35hp Lark Mod 35514 last week. It's been run, the guy had to get rid of it because it was a short shaft (just what I needed). She rotates fine, shifts fine. Not started it up yet, need to get a tank. It's the single fuel line model.
It has the aluminum cowling.. and a crappy blue pain job!. From the posts here that I've read, was able to find a few links to maybe find parts, decals and such for it.. like the missing 5 on the back where 35 Lark is.
Also, will be looking for the Front cover, seems the pull tab or whatever is broken off it.
I'm looking at putting the Solenoid in side the cowling.. althought I've got a junction box for it I can use.. may just re wire it anyways. The wiring is a bit tough.. I've got the repair manual and all, but might still have questions for who ever can help when it comes to it.
Took the starter motor off the 62 Johnson, and put it on the 35, fits fine. The one junction box is also from the 62. I'm confused as to what the fuses are for however on the old box.
You can see the motor here.. any comments would be nice. Soon as I can get the wiring figured out I'll get it running and shoot a vid of it.
