I recently purchased and started to install a pt#5006180 OMC to replace my old one. This is the replacement OMC since the existing one is obsolete. I have a 1994 70hp Evinrude motor. Here is the link to pictures of what the old omc looks like and the new one. http://www.flickr.com/photos/65072159@N04/?saved=1
My issue is that the new OMC came with a 6-pin male connector that leads to the motor. My existing cables went straight into the old omc with a no exterior connector piece that I can see. Do I need a new cable, connector/both? Or do I need to do some creative splicing. I have never repaired a boat before so I am not up on all the terminology. Feel free to talk in simple terms to me. Thanks
