1980 SSV16 trim gauge question

I just picked up a 1980 SSV16 with a 140 I\O and was wondering if I can hook up a tilt and trim gauge to it. Right now there is just a trim light. Not sure what the light is suppose to tell me.

The `80 ssv164 and 168 came with 3 drive options... Mercruiser 140, OMC 140 and the Volvo 140 I/Os...

Ik know Volvo has a "tilt" light but not for trim.???...If yours have seperate switches for trim and tilt you must have the T outdrive?
When you have the volvo, the light tells you that the drive is not fully in down position...!
Tel us more what outdrive combo you have there and maybe some picture can tell.
