Hey all, I have been reading posts on this forum for a while, but this is the first time I could not find my answers.

Just bought a 17' sunseeker with a pod conversion. took it out wakeboarding today and the 115 johnson gets buried in the water up to the motor cover when the boat in anywhere between idling along and on a full plane.
I have the cav plate on plane with the bottom of the boat like i have read that it is supposed to be, but the pod sticks up at a different angle. It take the boat forever to get up on a plane and bring the nose down.

also the previous owner cut the top of the pod transom plate down an undisclosed amount so I am not sure where the motor shoudl be sitting.

Any ideas?
Thanks for any help i can get

Sadly I doubt there is anything you can do besides junk that hull and find another to hang your engine on..... Welcome to IBOATS BTW

Thanks for the reply,

Why would I have to junk my hull?

The general consensus is that pods don't work.... Do a search on I/O to outboard conversions...

did a search, found lots of people happy and not happy with theirs. I am not the type to give up on something because it is difficult.
I am wondering what wil happen if I raise my ob so the cav plate is 3" above the bottom of the boat?

Well note that I said I doubt that there is anything.... Not certain....... You Might be able to do that but it is very important that the water pump pickup stays below the surface.... A water pressure gauge would be a VERY good idea.... An adjustable jackplate would be quite useful if you want to test motor heights.

Thanks for the input. I checked some video i took today and it looks like the motor rides just right on plane. I will try a set of trim tabs to keep the bow from riding rediculously high when trying to get up on a plane.
Thanks for the info

A pair of nauticus sx 60lb smart tabs made it work perfectly. The difference is unbelievable. gets right up on a plane and stays there at lower speeds, handling is a lot easier too.
