Check battery voltage, on the battery. Start the engine and use a multimeter on the batt again... see if the alternator is doing its job. Battery should read 12v and charging should read around 14. If you are not comfortable with that, remove the alternator and take it to autozone or something and have them spin it up on their tester. Hope this helps.

4 cyl 470 engine right? With the engine running measure the voltage across the battery terminals, should be something more than 12 volts, more like 14. If not charging plan on adding a alternator kit like the one here: http://www.breezeworks.net/ . Unless of course you already have an alternator, in that case take it off and have it tested (any auto parts store).
