My boat has a non marine toggle switch on it to control the tilt/trim of my motor. the controls are not equiped with a switch. The switch I have now is in bad shape, not to mention in a bad location. Any ideas on what type of switch to use or a better location. Maybe just a transom switch near the controls to lower the profile and keep it from snaging on the seat??

Here is the location now

Re: ideas for tilt/trim switch

I got a CMC tilt trim for my boat and it came with a switch like that and I used a small hose clamp and clamped it to the throttle handle so you could use it like a normal one, I covered the clamp with black tape and it worked really well.

You should be able to get another switch at Radio Shack.

Anther option is Teleflex makes a univeral control with tt switch built in, that is what I am running now btu it is going to quite alot more than just a switch.
