Engine slightly over heating?

Hey everyone, I went out last night and the boat ran fine. Woke up this morning to run the boat on muff's and with in 5 min it was around 190 or so (about 3/4 up on the temp gauge), so I immediately turned it off as soon as I saw it. How can I figure out if it's the thermostat that's acting up OR the water pump impeller. The boat is an '88 Bayliner Capri 3.0L, with OMC Cobra outdrive. I have searched, but it seems that there isn't much info on the OMC stuff. I'd really like to go ahead and replace both, BUT I really need some insight on how to replace the water pump impeller! Thanks in advance!

Not sure what your problem is.... but you will have better luck in the OMC section. This is the Mercruiser section. I suppose one of the mods will move it for you soon.
