I was looking this motor over today trying to see why it seems a little sluggish at WOT and noticed the manual switch was about half on which was only letting the chokes open about 1/2 way if that. I switched it to auto and the chokes opened all the way up. I continued the check and determined that the butterflies were opening all the way so that wasn't the issue. Would the 1/2 or more closed chokes have the effect of making the motor run a little sluggish at WOT?
I won't get the chance to get the boat back in the water until Saturday.
