i bought a 19ft cobia bowrider yesterday. took it out today and it over heated. doesn't seem to be pumping water into the motor. this is my first boat like this, is there an impeller in the foot like on an outboard or how does this motor(5.0l) get water to cool it?
I noticed a small water pump on the front lower left hand side of the motor with two hoses coming off it. one goes to the stern at the top of the sterndrive, the other to some kide of 4 way splitter on the front top of the engine. Can someone please tell me where to start with this.
also, once it ran hot I got a tow back to the dock. by hot , the temp gauge read a little under 250 when i noticed it and shut it down.
