Hey guys in my area there's a boat junk yard with a nice load of vintage outboards. Owner quoted $300 for a 5hp evinrude or johnson. He asks more for running ones. Many seem frozen up. I know vintage outboards according to the "book" don't fetch much. whats a good price guage for the little guys 5 to 10 hp. engines. Evinrudes seakings, clintons, etc? I'd like to add to collection at a right price.

$300 sounds fair for a running, 30 to 70 year old JohnnyRude 3 to 6HP. Gale-made Sea Kings about the same. Clintons and other air cooled less.

Not running, frozen, etc? $.50 a pound. I got my 1948 Gale Sea King 1.5 for $12.00.

Re: how much

Thanks guys. I was thinking double digits for non running engines. I paid $25 for my 54 sea king. Not running though from chorpus christy, Tx. out of a boat repair shop.
