I have a 2000 Johnson 70 HP (J70PLSSD) motor with a VRO. The VRO has always been disconnected and have only used oil/gas mix. Started having issues with the fuel pump and had it repaired once. A new VRO styled pump will cost between $300 to $450. It looks like I could replace the VRO styled pump with a Non-VRO for a lot less. Has anyone here done this? If so, what pump (part number) do I need? And, how do you mount it? Do need a different mounting bracket? I have read that the results are wonderful, after the replacement.
