Hi,

Following the basic troubleshooting procedure in this thread -
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=158071

I've arrived at this part:
"2. Electric and manual start: Flywheel rotates but engine does not attempt to start. .
Remove a spark plug, reconnect it and hold it against engine block. Keep it there while turning engine over.
Does it make a hot, blue spark when attempting to start?
If no, troubleshoot ignition system."

This is after the boat was parked for the winter (it hasn't run this year).
Is there a post or sticky somewhere that spells out the ignition system troubleshooting. What are that things I should be looking for?

Thanks

So you are saying that you have no spark? The only place that I know of with a trouble shooting chart is the factory manual, got one?

I took one of the spark plugs out and attached it to the spark plug wire. Then I had someone try to start the motor while I held the spark plug near the engine. There was no arching. I also did a second test, where I removed the spark plug and put in a screw driver in the wire end. Same result.
I have a shop manual for the johnson outboards, is that the best place?
