Had a problem with my alarm panel, the alarm buzzer is on continually when the engine is running, its a different sound than if i use the "test alarm" button.
When I test the alarm the sound is normal, the sound thats there cintinually is a low pitch low frequency sound.
The buzzer is a sonitron unit, I suspect that might be the problem.
Anyone experience this problem?

Thanks

Re: Alarm panel volvo penta

It could be low/no oil pressure, or temp alarm. I've heard from others that there is an alarm for gear lube in the outdrive, but I haven't seen that listed in my manual.
If you have the 4.3 carb engine, the temp alarm is on the top of the engine front center, behind the alternator, there are 3 hoses connected at that point. The sensor has 1 wire to it. When the engine is running and the alarm is sounding, look at your temp gauge make sure you are not overheating. carefully pull the single wire to the sensor, if the alarm stops, then its the temp alarm, at that point just to be sure use a screwdriver, and ground the sensor wire if the alarm starts again you know for sure the circuit is good. Could be a bad sensor, or possibly not getting enough water. That sensor is supposed to close at 210 F
