I got a 70' 45 hp. chrysler and it needs a flywheel nut. I thought it was 5/8"-18 but it is not. Can anyone tell me the correct size?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: 1970 45 hp. flywheel nut size

Look at the info at the address below. I had my best luck by finding a nut ad the Hardware Store that matched my 1970 35HP Chrysler. I had my old nut to start with that helped but still looked a little conflicting.

Chrysler 55 HP Flywheel nut size?
While torquing the flywheel nut it stripped out. Looks like the splines on the shaft are ok.

Anyone know what size the flywheel nut is?

9/16 fine thread--something like 22 threads per inch I have difficulty in counting them.
