I have a 1995 150hp evinrude ocean pro,runs great,but have a quiet consantly,annoying beeping,sound coming from the alarm horn,IT EVEN COMES ON SOMETIME,with key just turned on.
The oil tank is going down with use,so no oil lube problem,and engine runs excellent ???
May be oil sensor in tank ????

It could be a sensor or a short in the system it could also be the horn itself is going bad. The horn notifies you of low oil, no oil and overheating. Disconnect each sensor and then see what happens if the horn stops then you found the culprit. If all three sensors are disconnected and the horn is still beeping then you either have a short in the wiring harness (it is grounding out someplace) or the horn is bad.

disconnect the oil tank wires at the engine - I'll bet the sound goes away. All that particular alarm does is tell if there is only about a quart of oil left in the tank. You can do that visually without spending over $100 for a new oil pickup and hose assembly.

I have had the same problem for years.My alarm only came on at idle. Brought it in for service finally and it came back with the same problem. The technician said it was my tachometer as he unhooked mine then hooked it up again. I bought a new one on eBay for 80.00 , installed it last night. Looking forward to going out with out the alarm.Same motor same year. He said he had only seen the problem once before. Do all of the other test first you may find it is a fuel restriction , bad vacuum switchc bad horn ect. Good luck.

I don't think it would be the gauge itself, rather what sends the signal to the tach...the volage regulator. The VRO uses the same signal for the tach, to calculate how many pulses for a given RPM and if out of spec sounds the NO OIL warning.

Yup dicconected the tan wire going to the oil tank and ,that solved the problem,quiet at last.
Just going to visual check oil,I do that anyway,and save $100 bucks.
