I am needing some help. After 2 years of tireless work and countless $$$ rebuilding the engine on my '76 Mercury Outboard 175 hp, I finally got in on the lake and got it to go somewhere. Ran and sounded like a beaut, with on exception. The shifting handle itself, not sure what its called, had a tooth break off a gear inside the little box right next to my steering wheel, and couldn't go anywhere... I just need a new shifter/throttle (the whole box, not the part inside the engine but the part up front, the control box) but can't find one anywhere online! So basically my question is, is it possible to buy them or do I need to try and find a similar boat and salvage it?I feel like I haven't been very clear and probably sound like a babbling bafoon, so ask me if you need clarification. See my picture of the needed peice for some clarification...
