VOLVO PENTA 740 DP break starters!!!

Hello, I have in my Glastron a VOLVO PENTA 740, the exhaust are new, the elbows are new, the oil is clean (no water inside the engine), the starter is new because I changed it because the housing of the starter have a crack, the flywheel pinions are ok, the battery is new. The engine don't start again after 10 times of running and my new housing starter have a crack again. What is the problem? Please I need help.

starter may not be making the right contact with the fly wheel did you shim it when installing it.
