I have been dutifully rebuilding a 16' 1970s runabout that my son bought (thanks) and we are ready to launch this weekend.
I notice that there are two drain holes left and right in the bilge box in addition to the rear drain plug to the sea. These holes reach into the hull interior -- the idea, presumably to drain water if it were to get inside the hull.
The last thing I want is to introduce water inside the hull. Can I seal these holes or are they an indispensable feature?
Thanks,
Bruce, Atlanta
