Did the usual oil change this spring on my 4 stroke fuel injected 115 Johnson. 3 weeks into the season it started running rough and the oil light went off. I check the oil and it was about 1" over the full line on the dip stick. I changed the oil and filter agian, changed out the spark plugs, the old oil smelled badly of gas. Ran the motor about 2 hours and again gas in the engine oil. The motor runs fine at high and trolling speed, idles well. I don't want to run with gas in the oil.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Quite common. Go to the Engines FAQ Forum and read on 4 strokes "making oil".

Could be a ruptured fuel pump diaphram or the mtr is running way to cold or the rings are stuck.

I appreciate the responses, and great post on "making oil". I was aware that they made a little oil, but this must be a fuel pump or line leak. I made 2" on the dipstick in 2-3 hours of running.

Thanks a ton for the help!!
