I have put the whole wiring harness and stator from a 1982 115 hp johnson motor onto a 1977 evinrude 115 hp motor. I have good fire and compression but due to different mounts on block I have got the plug wires mixed up. Can anyone tell me which coils go to which cyl. by the color or the wires? Or can I figure out which coil fires first by bringing up top dead center on cyl. 1 and follow the rest. Also what is the firing order?

On my '85 115 the primary wires out of the power packs are orange/blue and orange. The orange/blue go to the top coils on each side. Top coil to top plug, bottom coil to bottom plug.

thanks that will get me to the top and bottom. Is it possible that I might have to switch sides where i had to mount the coils on my own mounts?

caution: Make sure your flywheel you're using matches the electrical harness/stator you're using. I learned the hard way with my frankenstein that they don't all match, and blew a cylinder b/c timing was off. Engine ran for 9months but eventually the messed up timing killed a cylinder.

Also, not sure what you're asking in your prior question. switch sides?? own mounts??
