Hello,
I am about to go crazy.... i have a merc 9.8 110 from around 1975, and it had intermittent tell-tale output problems in the past, and this year, no water would come out at all, just steam (or it might be exhaust??) so i replaced the impeller with a new one, checked the pump for debris, insured that water was flowing easily from the inner tube in the foot to the tell-tale... re-assembled it making sure all was aligned and it still will not function normally... spews out just a few drops of water but a lot of smoke (steam or exhaust)...
I have also replaced the pumps seals, but still the problem is there... The exhaust pressure is higher that what the pump manages to push up, i guess.
I don't know how complicated it is to lift the powerhead on this, but are there any worn parts i could find under there that could cause such a problem??
Thanks for any advise
Pierre
Any new ideas on this old recurring problem??
Thanks in advance!
