Volvo Penta (OMC Ford) smokes

I have noticed that my starboard VP/OMC 5.0 seems to smoke and produce more fumes than the port engine both at idle and while cruising. You can actually smell the fumes while in motion. I just rebuilt the carb on the engine and it runs very well. One thing that I have failed to address is that there may be too much oil in the motor. I changed the oil and didn't realize that I didn't get all the old oil out before putting the prescribed amount of new oil in. Could this cause the smoking? Is it the Fuel/air mixture?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes,.... 'n it gets Worse from there... get it drawn down...
