Hey guys,

I've been collecting any numbers and info I can find on the boat.

Cruisers Rogue 2120 GM 350 5.7 litre MCM 260HP LH Alpha One
Engine serial number from plate near the starter - B837322
Stern Drive serial number - Kinda faded, tag gone
Carborator make and model - Rochester Quadrajet
Water/Seperator filter number - 35-802-893T
Alternator model - Old lol, 1 wire
Spark Plugs - AC-MR-43T
Spark Plug gap - 035
Transom Assembly - OB868157 - found on a plate on the port side valve cover
Drive Unit - OB885_ _ unable to read the last two numbers - found on a plate on the port side valve cover
Carb Tag - Merc 260 1347-9662

Quick questions,
1. The plate on top of the carb says Thunderbolt ignition. From what I have read there are different kinds. How can I tell what kind I have?
2. Is a Thunderbolt ignition a rotor and points or is it electronic?
3. Any other related info you guys see or think I should locate would be appreciated

Thank you

Re: Identification

more than likely you have the t-bolt 4 ignition system, it should say on the module which one it is

it is an electronic ignition system, and a pretty good one for general boating performance (there is still a rotor under the cap, but no points)

why do you need all the info?? tune-up??

Re: Identification

Not so much a tune up but right now I am just trying to identify the systems on the boat so I have them for future reference. Being a 1988 I am sure it is going to keep me busy and also I am the type that likes to maintain the boat and keep it running as it should. Thank you very much for the info. When you say it should be on the module, do you mean the distributor?

Naw,... The Brainbox...
It might be a small metal box mounted on the riser, or a small triangular 1 mounted to the distributer...
Not sure on an 88...
