With the proper tools it's easy. Would recommend getting an OEM factory service manual as it tells all.

If you have to replace the cap seals and wipers it's pretty easy with a spanner wrench. If you want to get into the internals, you need the factory service manual.

Depends if it's been in salt water or not on what type of spanner wrench you need.

It really, really depends on which seals you need to replace. I'm about to do mine and the difference between the wiper and the internals, like emdsapmgr mentioned is huge. You'll definitely want the manual. I found the spanner wrench I needed on "fleabay" and they seem to have one of each size. I also bought a tilt/trim "seal kit" that came with about 50-60 different gaskets. I haven't looked at the manual yet, but I hope, pray even, that they "over packed", because that's a LOT of gaskets to change, lol.
