i have a 1978 75hp Rude on my pontoon and the tach works fine but it is not charging. i put a volt meter on it while i was on the lake and it jumps all over the place from -2 volts to +24 volts and it has a/c voltage in the d/c side. i am thinking rectifire is bad am i on the right track? the boat had a 1982 115hp johnson on it when i got it and the motor was junk spo i put the 75 on it and didnt look at the wiring from one to the other i just plugged it in. is the wiring from the 115 the same as the 75 or is that the problem? i am using the 115 controls and wiring they are omc controls.
