I have the 12 1/2 x 13 on my 55 Johnson on a 19 foot pontoon, and it will only turn at 4800 rpm. I just bought the motor and had the 13 from another OMC that I owned before. I am thinking of buying a 11.8 x 11 Solas here on iboats and I am wondering if you think the 11 will be enough of a drop with the reduced diameter. Once you drop under the 11p the only props iboats has are 11 inch diameter. Recommended range for the motor is 5000 to 6000 rpm.
The boats is loaded heavy and I ended up with an 11 on the old 50hp Evinrude to keep it in the range. Too bad I sold that one with the motor. I don't know the diameter from the old 11p.
