Altenator belt??

I am not getting a charge from my alternator. I checked it and it is about 12v. I noticed this year before I put the boat in that my mounting bolt had come loose so I replaced it. I'm wondering from reading some of these other threads if I don't have the belt tight enough?? It's not making any noise...but I have a hard time believing that my 2 year old alternator is shot?

If the belt is not slipping and your getting a low charge reading than it's not the belt. I'd go thru all the connections and clean them than check again. If it's still low, well, evan new parts can be faulty.
